What does a standard catalytic regenerative argon purifier look like?A standard catalytic regenerative argon purifier must have one independent deoxygenation purification column and two dehydration and drying columns (a total of three purification columns). It has a double-purification-column structure, one column for use and one for standby (referring to the two dehydration and drying columns), and does not require hydrogenation for regeneration. This kind of machine has good purification effect, long life, low cost and no consumables, ensuring the continuous operation of equipment.
The following are argon purifiers with four other processes on the market: 1. The argon purifier with two purification columns (hydrogen needs to be added for regeneration and reduction): Some manufacturers use the structure of two purification columns, one for use and one for standby to mislead people. If there is no independent deoxygenation purification column in an argon purifier, the purifier will, equivalently, have one less purification column than the standard catalytic regenerative argon purifier. As the purchaser, we only need to confirm with the sales staff whether there is an independent deoxygenation purification column in the argon purifier. If they say no, it can be sure that this type of machine has the hydrogenation regeneration process, with only two purification columns.
There are only two purification columns in the machine, and such machine is filled with deoxidizer + molecular sieve desiccant. Although the two purification columns can also be used for regeneration alternately, there is less packing in the machine because there is no independent deoxygenation purification column. After such machine is used for a period of time, it requires addition of hydrogen for regeneration and reduction, and normally must be returned to the factory for hydrogenation reduction. Because hydrogen is dangerous, customers themselves are generally unwilling to use hydrogen for regeneration. In the process of selling, the sales staff of argon purifiers normally will not tell you that the machine needs addition of hydrogen for regeneration and reduction, and will propose solutions to you only when the purification effect is not good.
Customers who buy this argon purifier with only two purification columns are basically unwilling to spend money on an argon purifier with three purification columns. Such customers normally have a low budget. In order to facilitate a deal, the sales staff of argon purifiers can only recommend a model with a lower-level configuration to them.
Technicians and purchasers must note that: the sales staff of argon purifier manufacturers will say that this is a double-purification-column mechanism (but they will not tell you that there is no catalytic tower). Only when you have made confirmation in this regard, can you avoid buying a machine with two purification columns at the price of an argon purifier with three purification columns. Because the service life of this machine with only two purification columns is shorter than that of three purification columns, the effect of regeneration and purification will get worse and worse as time goes by if no hydrogen is added. This machine is used in a few aluminum plants and has never been seen in foundries or steel mills.
2. The argon purifier with two purification columns (there is only one precious metal suction purification column and one dehydration and drying purification column in it). This process consumes the precious metal purification column quickly, and such column needs to be replaced from time to time, leading to a high use cost. Because there is only one dehydration, drying and purification column, the column needs to be heated, dried and reduced after it has absorbed enough water, and the terminal equipment used needs to be shut down, which can not ensure the continuous operation of customers and is unfriendly to use.
3. The argon purifier with three purification columns (there is only one precious metal suction purification column, one dehydration drying purification column, and one copper catalyst deoxidation purification column in it). This process consumes the precious metal purification column and copper catalyst purification column quickly, and such columns need to be replaced from time to time, leading to a high use cost. Because there is only one dehydration, drying and purification column, the column needs to be heated, dried and reduced after it has absorbed enough water, and the terminal equipment used needs to be shut down, which can not ensure the continuous operation of customers and is unfriendly to use.
4. The argon gas purifier with one purification column (this machine is filled with precious metal high-temperature getters). The service life of such machine is very short, and may be even less than one year in areas where gas sources are particularly poor. Such precious metal high-temperature getter adsorbs all impurities in argon, with a high purification degree, but the service life is short and it can not be recycled. The argon purifier produced by this process is easy to manufacture, has a short lifespan, and has a high cost of use.
In summary: Compared with the argon purifiers of the above four processes, the standard catalytic regenerative argon purifier has the following advantages: good purification effect, long service life, no need to replace any consumables, low cost of use, and guaranteed continuous operation of equipment.
The standard catalytic regenerative argon purifier must be a fully automatic touch screen type with programmed control of the regeneration cycle. For manually operated argon purifiers, the operator often has mis-operations, and even forgets to perform regeneration. If regeneration is not good for an argon purifier, such purifier will not only fail to purify argon, but also become a source of pollution.
The direct reading spectrometer is a precise analytical instrument. Argon is the "blood" of the direct reading spectrometer. Only when the "blood" is clean can the spectrometer work stably and efficiently. Since you have spent hundreds of thousands of yuan on the spectrometer, you had better buy a fully automatic touch-screen argon purifier that saves time, worry and effort, because and the argon purifier is just an auxiliary device of the spectrometer. |
